CHESTER, NJ — ShopRite stores across the state, including the Chester location, are holding job fairs on Jan. 20 for those looking for a new career.

The hiring fairs are part of a company-wide effort by Wakefern Food Corp. to attract workers and fill positions at stores across New Jersey.

The walk-up job fair is taking place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the store located at 183 US-206, Chester.

There is a backup date of Jan. 27 if snow forces a postponement.

Interested applicants can visit the store to speak with a hiring representative for an immediate interview. Full-time, part-time and management positions are available, depending on location.

Wakefern officials said the available positions include general, perishable, front-end and stocking clerks, and offer flexible hours and a wide variety of cross-training "to provide employees with the knowledge, skills and tools to work as a team throughout the store."

"Training programs include a game-based app and are designed to provide a solid foundation so each individual can achieve their best and pursue career goals," the company said. Each job offers opportunities for career growth.

The supermarkets also offer associates entertainment and tuition discounts and scholarship opportunities.
