Summer Travel Camp For Teens To Launch In Chester
The travel camp runs for four weeks beginning July 11 and ending August 12 and is for children entering 7th grade through 9th grade.
CHESTER, NJ — The Chester Township Recreation Department has announced the launch of a new summer program for all Chester teenage residents.
The Chester Township Teen Travel Camp runs for four weeks from July 11 to August 12, with no camp the week of July 18, and is for children entering 7th through 9th grade in the fall of 2022.
Teen campers will visit local theme parks and venues on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and will participate in a variety of activities on Wednesdays, including games, sports, arts and crafts and swimming.

The camp will be held at the Highlands Ridge Park Barn, located at 100 North Road in Chester. Trips will depart and return to this location. Campers will walk to Black River Middle School for activities on Wednesdays and use the Chester Area Pool.

Week 1: July 11-15

Week 2: July 25-29
- Funplex, East Hanover, NJ
- Great Adventure, Jackson, NJ (5 p.m. Return)
- On site activities/Swim
- Dave and Busters, Wayne
- NJ Fireball Mountain, Wrightsville, NJ (8:15 a.m. Depart)
Week 3: Aug 1-5
- Power House Studios, East Hanover, NJ
- Breakwater Beach, Seaside Heights, NJ (5 p.m. Return)
- On site activities/Swim
- Liberty Science Center, Jersey City, NJ
- Seven Presidents Park (Beach) Long Branch, NJ
Week 4: Aug 8-12
- NJ Sea Life Aquarium, East Rutherford, NJ
- Camelbeach, Tannersville, PA (5 p.m. Return)
- On site activities/Swim
- Circle Bowling, Ledgewood, NJ and Miniature Golf, Flanders, NJ
- Medieval Times, Lyndhurst, NJ
The staff-to-camper ratio will be 1:10. Alana Magro, Summer Recreation Program Director, will direct the Teen Travel Camp.
Registration will close on June 22, or as soon as each week is full. A $50 non-refundable deposit per child per session is due right away. The final payment is due by May 20, or a $50 late fee will be assessed.
Camp Fees- Chester Township and Borough Residents – $375/child/week.
- Nonresidents – $410/child/week
