Swastikas Spray Painted In Morris Co. Apartment Complex: PD
The vandalism did not meet the criteria for a bias crime, but 2 teens and adult face charges.
MOUNT OLIVE, NJ — Two teenagers face charges after several swastikas were spray painted around a Mount Olive apartment complex, police said.
The vandalism happened in Stedwick Village on Friday night, police said. Police were called to the apartment complex when a caller told police three people were hanging out, drinking beer and spray painting a building.
When police arrived, they found several empty beer cans and a bottle of vodka in the parking lot. Police found a 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, both of whom appeared to be drunk, and arrested them, police say. A third person, 20-year-old Samantha K. Condon from Budd Lake, was found hiding behind a nearby dumpster; police say she also appeared drunk. She was placed under arrest.

Police say the group had drank alcohol, and then the teens vandalized buildings, signs, flags, and vehicles with spray paint.
"Although some of the spray paint depicted swastikas and derogatory words, there is no indication that a specific group or individual was a target. The investigation determined that the vandalism did not meet the Attorney General’s guidelines for a bias crime," police said.
