Teen Suicide Workshop: 'Connecting In An Era Of Distraction'

Following two teen suicides, the library is hosting an event focused on bolstering connections within families.

BROOKSIDE, NJ — The Mendham Stigma-Free Task Force is holding a second workshop following a successful initial workshop following the deaths of two teenagers on New Year's Day, according to a social media post by the Township of Mendham.

The workshop, entitled "Connecting in an Era of Distraction," will be focused on how to support your family and connect better on a daily basis. It will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Mendham Township Library, at 2 West Main St. in Brookside.

Dr. Paul Hokemeyer, an internationally-known family therapist who regularly appears on CNN, Good Morning America and the Today Show, will be in attendance.

The workshop follows the successful "Community Conversations" workshop, which was held on Jan. 14.

According to the social media post, the discussion will focus on how to create better understanding, more intimacy and real connections within families and within communities.
