Thanksgiving Turkey Drive For Mendham Families In Need

The Mendham Interchurch Community is once again hosting its annual Turkey Drive to support the Interfaith Food Pantry Network.

MENDHAM, NJ — In just a few weeks, families and friends will gather to celebrate Thanksgiving. But for some, affording the ingredients for a holiday meal can be a challenge.

In Mendham, community members have the opportunity to give back as the Mendham Interchurch Community once again hosts its annual Turkey Drive to support the Interfaith Food Pantry Network.

On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to noon, residents are invited to stop by Hilltop Presbyterian Church, located at 14 Hilltop Road in Mendham, to drop off donations for families in need.

Suggested donation items include:

  • Frozen turkeys (up to 20 lbs.)
  • Frozen turkey breasts
  • Frozen chickens
  • Non-perishable cranberry sauce
  • Stuffing mix
  • Instant potatoes
  • Corn muffin mix
  • Brownie mix
  • Gravy (canned, jarred, or in packets)
  • Canned sweet potatoes
  • Canned green beans
  • Canned corn

Donors are also invited to enjoy a warm social gathering, with complimentary cider and donuts served by the fire pit.

The Mendham Interchurch Community, also known as the Mendham Faith Leaders, includes Hilltop Presbyterian Church, Brookside Church (UCC), the Community of St. John Baptist, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Mendham United Methodist Church, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Grace Lutheran Church.

The Morris County Interfaith Food Pantry has long been a vital resource for local families, especially during the holiday season. Each year, the organization distributes thousands of meals, ensuring families have the opportunity to gather with food on their tables.

In 2023, the network provided 1,962,591 meals to individuals and families in need across Morris County.

The network spans multiple communities, including Butler, Lincoln Park, Rockaway, Jefferson, Dover, Randolph, Parsippany, Morristown and Madison, and includes smaller food pantries, low-income senior housing sites, and food access programs operated by the county.
