Town Hall Renovations Wrap Up In Mendham Township
The municipal building in Mendham Township has officially finalized its complete transformation, just in time for the new year.
MENDHAM, NJ — Construction on the Mendham Township municipal building has been completed after more than a year of extensive renovations.
To mark the occasion and showcase the newly renovated space, Mendham Township is hosting an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, which is open to all members of the local community. The ceremony has been set for Jan. 11 at 12 p.m., officials said.
The municipal building has undergone a complete transformation, with renovations aimed at preserving its historic features while enhancing the functionality of both the town hall and the library. Township officials previously told Patch that the improvements were designed to better serve the community's needs while maintaining the building’s rich history.

The renovation process included active resident participation, with the township consulting the community to help choose the building's exterior color. In a survey conducted last year, gray emerged as the clear favorite, receiving the majority of votes from local residents.

The approved renovation project included several major improvements to the nearly century-old Town Hall, which houses both the municipal offices and the library.
According to a statement from the township, the updates were extensive and included a new roof, HVAC system, fresh paint, and new flooring throughout the building. In addition, two new bathrooms were added to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Under the new plans, the library was expanded, which required the removal of the original front staircase. Asbestos removal was also part of the project, along with other demolition work in both the library and the upstairs portion of the building, as noted by township officials.
During the construction of the Mendham Township municipal building, all administrative offices were temporarily relocated to the former police station.
Residents will have the opportunity to tour the newly renovated building following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, with refreshments provided to guests during the event.
"We are so happy to welcome residents and guests in to our new space," township officials said.
