Volunteers Needed For Raritan River Cleanup In Mendham

Raritan Headwaters is hosting its 33rd annual stream cleanup on April 15 to clean select branches of the Raritan River.

MENDHAM, NJ — Raritan Headwaters is hosting its 33rd annual stream cleanup on April 15 to clean select branches of the Raritan River.

The cleanup effort will take place between 9 a.m. and noon at several locations throughout the Raritan River area, including the Tempe Wick Reserve off of Tempe Wick Road in Mendham, according to the Mendham Township Environmental Commission.

“It only takes three hours to make a big impact,” the nonprofit said in a statement on its website. “Safeguarding these “headwaters” means clean, safe water for 300,000 watershed residents and 1.5 million New Jerseyans living downstream in more urban areas that depend on the water that comes from our rivers and reservoirs.”
