$850K To Fix Upper Prospect Road Retaining Wall in Atlantic Highlands
The retaining wall is at risk of collapsing, said Atlantic Highlands Mayor Lori Hohenleitner.
ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ — Congressman Frank Pallone (D-NJ6) announced this week he secured $850,000 in federal funding to replace the deteriorating retaining wall along Upper Prospect Road in Atlantic Highlands.
The retaining wall is at risk of collapsing, said Atlantic Highlands Mayor Lori Hohenleitner. It is not immediately known when the work will start.
Recent inspections of the Upper Prospect Road retaining wall have revealed significant signs of deterioration across multiple sections of the wall, indicating potential failure. If left unaddressed, a collapse could disrupt essential services and isolate a neighborhood, affecting daily commutes and emergency response routes.
