In total, it will cost approximately $200,000 to build a new playground at New Monmouth Elementary, one of the PTA mom members told Patch. New Monmouth needs a new playground, she said, in part because the elementary school's student population doubled when the Middletown school district closed Port Monmouth Elementary in 2020, sending all those students to New Monmouth.
