The stock market whipsawed violently this week as President Donald Trump’s reckless tariff threats and sudden retreats sent shockwaves through Wall Street, wiping out billions in retirement savings for working-class Americans while billionaire investors—armed with insider foresight—raked in staggering windfalls.

Now, progressive Democrat Lisa McCormick is demanding immediate impeachment proceedings, accusing Trump of orchestrating a brazen scheme of market manipulation to enrich his ultra-wealthy allies at the expense of the people he swore to serve.

"Americans invited these disruptions by voting for a con artist, but that does not make it legal to influence stock prices and profit as a result of these crimes," McCormick declared, her voice sharp with fury.

She lambasted the GOP-controlled Congress for its blind loyalty to Trump’s "dangerous tyranny," warning that their complicity has turned the White House into a criminal enterprise masquerading as a presidency.

But McCormick saved some of her harshest criticism for her own party, slamming "do-nothing Democrats" for their paralysis in the face of what she called "economic treason."

She singled out former President Joe Biden for allowing Attorney General Merrick Garland to "sleep on the job" instead of prosecuting Trump’s alleged crimes, and she scorched Senator Cory Booker for peddling empty rhetoric while the country spirals.

Democrats like Senator Cory Booker are peddling empty rhetoric and sitting on their hands while President Donald Trump is deliberately engineering policies to trigger a recession and send shockwaves through Wall Street in what Lisa McCormick called "economic warfare against the American people."
The firebrand progressive didn’t stop there. McCormick called for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s removal, accusing him of betraying the nation by capitulating to Republicans on a stopgap budget deal that further entrenches corporate power.
"Democrats in Washington have decided to do nothing while the world burns," McCormick seethed. "As if that very cowardice isn’t what put Trump back in power."

McCormick’s indictment of Trump’s economic agenda was even more explosive. She accused the former president and his billionaire backers of deliberately engineering policies to trigger a recession, knowing full well that economic collapse would allow the ultra-rich to buy up assets at rock-bottom prices while ordinary Americans lose their jobs, homes, and life savings.

"Donald Trump and his cronies don’t just want a recession—they’re engineering one," she charged. "Why? Because when the economy crashes, real estate, stocks, and businesses become fire-sale bargains for billionaires. They’ll swoop in, buy everything cheap, and then soak up profits while working people suffer. This isn’t just greed—it’s economic warfare against the American people."

McCormick pointed to Trump’s own words as damning evidence, recalling his chilling 2016 debate admission: "I hope the market crashes so I can buy cheap." Now, she argues, he’s making that predatory dream a reality—and unless Congress acts, the American people will pay the price.

The question now is whether Washington’s paralyzed political class will heed her call—or whether, as McCormick warns, they’ll once again stand by as the nation is plundered.
