Man Hit, Killed By Multiple Cars On Parkway In Middletown, None Stopped

A man got out of a moving vehicle Friday night on the Garden State Parkway in Middletown, and was hit by multiple other cars and killed.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A man got out of a moving vehicle Friday night on the Garden State Parkway in Middletown, and was hit by multiple other cars and killed, NJ State Police said on their Facebook account.

The man killed was Jose Cerda-Estevez, 33, of Plainfield, NJ. None of the multiple cars that hit him stopped to help him, said police.

"New Jersey State Police is seeking the public’s assistance with a fatal hit-and-run motor vehicle crash investigation that occurred on Garden State Parkway in Middletown Township, Monmouth County," said police.

At 5:58 p.m. Friday, a Honda Pilot was traveling southbound in the Parkway express lanes near milepost 112.8. While the vehicle was in motion, the front-seat passenger exited the vehicle and was subsequently stuck by multiple unknown vehicles that failed to stop at the scene, said police.
