In a mostly “2 point trailing” game, the Roadrunners lost to Montclair, 85-91. Despite the loss to the Montclair RedHawks in third overtime; the team’s regular season record still qualified for a seed in the Division III NCAA Tournament.

Overall, the Roadrunners ended their season 21-8 (including championship play). The team ultimately fell to the University of Mary Washington in the second round of the NCAA tournament, 86-81.

Coach Ben Gamble, was known for his 2017 Shore Conference upset with Mater Dei Prep defeating Christian Brothers Academy 54-41, two years after the school announced it was staying open. He was formally coaching at St. Anthony's in Jersey City before the move to the former Catholic school.

Although from Sayreville, Gorman is “no stranger” to Middletown.

After graduating at Mater Dei Prep, he continued to compete in Middletown’s Tindal Park Summer Basketball league; an informal tournament started by local Monmouth County basketball players.

The league was started for college athletes to stay in shape during the off-season months.

Outside of the basketball court, Gorman is majoring in Accounting. Recently, he earned Second Team All-Academic and was named the 2024-2025 All Met Division III player of the year.
