Middletown Teen Has Until Dec. 3 To Help North Carolina Victims
A Middletown High School South senior is collecting supplies for North Carolina hurricane victims. She has until Dec. 3 and needs your help:

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A senior at Middletown High School South is collecting supplies for people devastated by hurricanes in North Carolina — and she needs your help, as the trailer she hopes to deliver is currently not even halfway full.
The local teen is Hannah Gorsegner. She and a few of her classmates hope to fill up a trailer with supplies, and then Hannah and her parents plan to drive it down to Ashville and the surrounding area in the beginning of December.
They’re in a bit of a time crunch, as they only have until December 3 to fill the 25-foot trailer and, "there is currently way too much empty space," said Hannah. "Any donations would be greatly appreciated!"

Hannah said she was inspired to help the North Carolina hurricane victims because she is taking a class at Middletown South called "Holocaust, Genocide and Modern Humanity."
"As part of the class, you have to do a project that will better a community," said the teen. "When I asked my teacher if I could do this for the project, she was on board and gave me the tools I needed to get the school involved. Currently, it is day 19 of the official start of the drive, and we've had so many amazing people come forward and supply us with all kinds of things. The problem is that we are still nowhere near our goal, which was to pack a 25-foot trailer."

You can say that helping others is truly in Hannah's blood: When her parents were in their twenties, on their first wedding anniversary, they packed a trailer full of supplies and drove it south to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
"I was really inspired by what they did, and asked if they'd be willing to help me do it again, this time for the victims of Hurricane Helene," said the Middletown teen. "They immediately expressed interest, and a few days later, we picked out a few days in December we'd drive a trailer with supplies down to North Carolina."
