NYC Cabdriver Carjacked After Driving Leonardo Man to BP on Rt. 35

A NYC cabdriver was assaulted, robbed, and then carjacked Wednesday morning after driving a Leonardo man to the BP on route 35.

A New York city cabdriver was assaulted and then robbed and carjacked after driving a man to the BP gas station on Route 35, the Asbury Park Press reported.

Pietro Amato, 38, of Leonardo was arrested after Middletown police officers responded to calls from residents on Minton Court and Rutledge driver reporting that a man was knocking on doors and asking for cab to be called.

The cab driver had also dialed 911 at approximately 3:30 a.m. early Wednesday, Lt. Steve Dollinger told the Press.
