Pasta With a Side of Bon Jovi

The Jov's father debuts three styles of his new pasta sauce brand.

Ever wanted a taste of Bon Jovi? You're in luck! Red Bank rocker and philanthropist Jon Bon Jovi's father has released a line of tomato sauces under the family's last name Bongiovi in three different styles, according to the brand's website, marinara, arrabiata and garden style.

"Passed down three generations, the Bongiovi family recipe originated in the town of Sciacca, Sicily in the late 1800s," this according to the Bongiovi sauce website. "When Great Grandma Bongiovi would prepare the sauce, she made enough to feed the neighborhood. This tradition was passed to her son, which was then passed to his son and then passed again to his three sons in America."

Considering the sauces' rich legacy, it's likely that you're favorite singer, the Grammy winner behind hits such as "You Give Love a Bad Name," and "It's My Life," slurped spaghetti with this very sauce. So is the sauce rock star fuel? Maybe. You'll have to try it for yourself. The sauce can be purchased at the Bongiovi sauce website in three or 12 pack depending on your appetite.

Bon Jovi helped open the JBJ Soul Kitchen last year in Red Bank. The pay-what-you-can restaurant offers diners the chance to pay for their meal - of overpay if they're so inclined - or work off their bill by volunteering in the kitchen or at other local charitable organizations like Lunch Break.

There's no word yet if the Bongiovi red will make it to plates.
