TINTON FALLS, NJ - A brush fire in Tinton Falls near the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets was extinguished Monday afternoon, officials said.

The brush fire was reported shortly before 3 p.m. in the area of mile 102 north on the Garden State Parkway, Tinton Falls Fire Company No. 1 said in a statement.

Following the arrival of Tinton Falls Fire Company No. 1, a brush fire was confirmed on the parkway near mile marker 101.9 northbound adjacent to the outlets, the fire department said.

Multiple fire engines arrived at the scene and deployed several hand lines, “quickly knocking the fire,” the fire department said.

Mutual aid was provided by a tanker from Glendola Fire Company and state police fire units.

The fire was extinguished in roughly an hour, the fire department said.
