Road Work Planned on Newman Springs Road in Middletown

Construction is planned on Newman Springs Road, as well as West Front Street and Jumping Brook. Read to find out details on avoiding traffic

Construction will be taking place on Newman Springs Road (Route 520) today, and throughout certain dates in early December, according to the Middletown Township Traffic Bureau.

The Lucas Construction Group will be working between Swimming River Road and the Navy overpass on Newman Spring’s Road on Friday, November 21. From 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. there will be a partial lane closure, as crews install new sewer pipes as part of a scheduled Middletown Sewer Authority project.

The partial lane closure will resume on December 1 to December 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and closed eastbound from December 8 to December 12 from 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.. All traffic besides local will be diverted down Swimming River Road. Detours are in place, and the township urges residents to plan alternate routes.

More Construction in Middletown

Pioneer Pipe will be working on the water main values on West Front Street at Half Mile Road in preparation for the paving of a portion of West Front Street in early December. There will be a partial road closure November 24 to November 25. Detours are in place, but it is advised to plan alternative routes.

Jumping Brook Road and Whispering Pines Drive, located in the Lincroft section of town, is closed to through traffic from now until possibly mid-December. Only buses are allowed, and detours are in place for all other traffic. Residents are advised to seek alternate routes. The project is slated to be completed by mid-December, weather permitting.
