Formal action will be taken. At Thursday night's meeting, the BOE will be asked to take a vote whether it wants to rescind (remove) its transgender student policy. That's the policy that got the district sued by the state of NJ in 2023. This week, an appellate court ruled Middletown's policy is illegal and cannot be enforced. It is the second NJ court to rule against the policy; the first injunction (block) on the policy was put in place by a Monmouth County Superior Court judge.
