Who's Running For Middletown School Board, Twp. Committee In 2025

Seven people filed to run. Voters will be asked to choose three in November.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — This past Monday at 4 p.m. was the filing deadline to run for Middletown school board this year.

Here's who is running for Middletown school board in 2025, and also for Middletown Township Committee. The election for both will be Nov. 4.

  • Leonora Lacqua-Caminiti: Current Board member, seeks re-election. Red Bank address
  • Sara Weinstein: Ran unsuccessfully for Middletown school board in 2024; running again. She ran that year with Kate Farley and neither of them won. Lives in Middletown.
  • Erin Torres: Accountability Community Transparency. Atlantic Highlands address.
  • James Dobis: Transparency and Accountability. Lives in Leonardo
  • James Cody: Has served on the Board before, was elected to the Middletown school board in 2011. Lives in Lincroft.
  • Christopher Aveta: Ran unsuccessfully for the school board before, in 2015. Lives in Middletown.
  • Joseph Fitzgerald: Putting Education First. Atlantic Highlands address. Fitzgerald was a Middletown school board member, but he is currently suspended from the school board. He was suspended after he was arrested June 30, when Middletown Police say they found him with a loaded handgun and other weapons, headed to another man's home. Fitzgerald was headed to engage in an altercation with the husband of the woman he is accused of having an extramarital affair with, prosecutors said.   • Rick Hibell, Republican Current Twp. Committeeman
  • Kevin Settembrino, Republican Current Twp. Committeeman
  • Shawn Wallach, Democrat
  • Jeremy Seideman, Democrat
