It was only one year ago, in July 2011, when Little Phil's opened up, one of several new restaurant openings celebrated around that time.
From all indications, Little Phil's was a popular artisanal delicatessen usually packed with people, occupying the space that formerly housed Tallmadge Cheese Market.

Little Phil’s was owned by 37-year-old Diou. Diou said that he was originally from Paterson, but grew up in Wayne, and currently lived in Randolph.
At Little Phil’s, guests could select from a vast array of traditional Italian food like meatballs, rice balls (arancini), broccoli rabe, portabella mushrooms, capellini pie, cavatelli salad, and braised short ribs.
Now there are two spaces that need to be filled in Upper Montclair Plaza—Little Phil's and also the former Charlie Brown's Steakhouse location.
