Pledge forms will be available so you can make a donation to the cause. Kindly see Jim Vigna, who is leading the Turf Fund project.

Vigna says he has travelled to many towns in New Jersey and New York to watch his son play football and lacrosse and that Glen Ridge has by far the worst fields he has ever seen.

"Hurrell Field, in particular, as a grass facility cannot handle the amount of play that it is currently getting and turf is the only answer," he said. "In discussions with the mayor and head of parks, we all agreed that this problem is only going to get worse and something needs to be done.

"I have raised an initial $200,000 from about 50 families in town thus far and we were lucky enough to be chosen to host the WFAN Boomer and Carton Celebrity Softball Game," he said.
