Montclair Deputy Mayor and California Governor Share Ideas at AFT Convention

Bob Russo, who went to the convention as a New Jersey delegate, has known the governor for a number of years.

Deputy Mayor Bob Russo met with California Governor Jerry Brown at the American Federation of Teachers Convention in Los Angeles, CA, July 11-14.

“Governor Brown has been a friend since we were both mayors in the early 2000s -- he of Oakland, CA and I was serving as mayor of Montclair,” said Russo.

At the convention the Governor and Deputy Mayor shared ideas and concerns, and discussed water conservation efforts in Montclair and in California, where residents were asked to cut back on water use by 20% because of severe drought conditions in that state.
