A Battle of the Bands for Books will take place on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Hear eight local teen groups battle it out the night before Teacher's Convention at the Women's Club of Upper Montclair. All proceeds will benefit a library of an elementary school in Guatemala.
PineRidge of Montclair, 60 Glenridge Ave., will offer a free health seminar, Diabetes and Prostate Awareness, conducted by Seton Hall University nursing students at 10 a.m.
Public schools are closed Thursday and Friday for the NJEA Teachers' Convention.
