Veterans Honored in Edgemont Park
Montclair observes Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 11.

Montclair's annual Veterans Day Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. in Edgemont Park. In the event of rain, services will be held in the Municipal Building in the Council Chambers, 205 Claremont Ave., Montclair.
Mayor Robert Jackson will serve as Master of Ceremonies and World War II Veteran John Knox and Crawford Crews Post 251 Commander Darryl Collins will be speakers at this year's ceremony.
Rev. Dr. Paul A. Leggett, Senior Pastor at Grace Presbyterian Church, will perform the invocation and benediction. Glenfield School students Samantha Van Siclen and Elias Kline will also participate in this year's program. Ms. Van Siclen will lead the pledge of allegiance and Mr. Kline will provide Veterans Day remarks.
Frances Duffy of the Montclair Community Band will sing the national anthem.

Also attending will be representatives from veterans organizations which include the Crawford Crews American Legion Post 251, Lt. Vincent J. Russo American Legion Post 382, Disabled American Veterans, Daughters of the American Revolution Eagle Rock Chapter, as well as members of the Montclair Red Cross.
The Montclair Community Band will perform and the band's trumpeter Carl B. Witzig will sound Taps. The Montclair Honor Guard will open the program with the Advance of Colors and will conclude the ceremony with the Retirement of Colors.
