Gas: 'There Are No Shortages,' Mayor Says
Some power restored to Montville as long lines continue at the pumps.

Those long lines at the gas pumps may seem daunting, but should not frighten motorists into thinking there is a gas shortage, according to Montville Mayor Tim Braden.
Braden said Friday that the lines are caused by some people actually in need of gas while others are merely topping off their tanks. Others are filling containers for generators to power parts of their homes, but the gas stations continue to receive their supply.
"There are no shortages, there will be no shortages," Braden said. "If people can just sit home and wait this out...but that's not people's nature."
