Montville Cop Accused of On-Duty Intoxication Pleads Not Guilty To Two Charges

The tickets were transferred to Morris Plains to avoid a conflict of interest, the Daily Record reported.

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J.– A Montville police officer accused of driving drunk while on duty plead not guilty to DWI and careless driving in Morris Plains court on Tuesday, the Daily Record reports.

According to the Morris County Prosecutor's office, Kurt Geisinger was driving while intoxicated while operating an unmarked patrol vehicle on Oct. 21.

A charge of careless driving was tacked on in connection with the incident, according to the MCPO.

The tickets were transferred to avoid a conflict of interest, the Daily Record reported.

There was no indication that the officer had any interaction with the public while intoxicated, based on the MCPO's investigation.

The Daily Record reported that Geisinger, 47, is scheduled to appear in court again on Dec. 6.

Geisinger was one of nine police officers honored in September by the Student Council of Woodmont Elementary School in Pine Brook.
