2 Cars Stolen In Moorestown; Police Urge Caution

Moorestown police are urging residents to protect their cars after two vehicles were stolen in the area of New Albany Road Thursday morning.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown police are urging residents to protect their cars after two vehicles were stolen in the area of New Albany Road Thursday morning, according to Police Chief Lee Lieber.

Lieber didn’t immediately have specific information about the cars that were stolen, but said they were later spotted on I-295 north.

Residents are urged to take their FOB/keys, remove any valuables from plain view, and lock their cars, police said in a statement.

They provided these tips to prevent car burglaries:

  • Do not leave valuables in plain view: (GPS devices, laptops, PDA’s, cell phones, MP3’s, wallets, purses)
  • Do not leave windows or sunroof open.
  • Do not leave doors unlocked.
  • Do not leave FOB/keys in the vehicle.
  • Do not leave the garage door opener in plain view.
  • Do not leave items with personal identifiers in plain view.
  • Do move valuable items to the trunk while in public view.
