On Monday, April 2, Karen Rogers from WPVI, 6ABC, visited Mary Barker's and Suanne Bryan's fifth grade science classes at the Moorestown . Rogers explained for the students how she prepares for the weather forecast by interpreting weather information from AccuWeather and the National Weather Service and creates her own computer visuals for Action News. She explained the many facets of her job as a traffic reporter, meteorologist, and co-host of FYI Philly.
Since the science classes are studying the weather, she
demonstrated on a map how cold and warm air masses interact to create warm and cold fronts that bring various weather conditions to our area. She told the students doing well in school and studying sociology, communications, meteorology and broadcasting have helped her achieve the career she wanted and loves.
She told the children to find a career that "makes your heart happy."
