Thirty-two local students from recently performed in the National Piano-Playing Auditions of the National Guild of Piano Teachers held at Jacobs Music, Cherry Hill, and received local and district honors.
The American College of Musicians evaluated the students’ performances based upon their presentation of Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary works. Each student performed in the presence of a professional adjudicator chosen by the national organization. Moorestown School of Music piano teachers Anne Jadwin, Mary Anne O’Meara and Tina Schofield are members of the Guild.
Throughout the country and abroad, more than 100,000 enthusiastic piano pupils participate in the annual National Piano-Playing Auditions, which are held in more than 880 music centers.

The honored students from Moorestown School of Music live in a number of South Jersey communities, including Moorestown, Mount Laurel, McGuire Air Force Base, Mansfield Township, Voorhees, Riverton, Williamstown, Marlton, Delran, Burlington Township, Voorhees, Medford, Cinnaminson and Mount Holly. Each entrant is given a certificate, a gold, silver, or bronze embossed pin, a report card, and a year’s membership in the National Fraternity of Student Musicians.
Moorestown School of Music, South Jersey’s Suzuki School, offers Suzuki Method cello, piano and violin lessons and Music Together®, a music and movement class for preschoolers and their parents or caregivers.
