Boy Charged With Attempted Murder Of Officer In BurlCo: Prosecutor
He tried to stab an officer while being arrested for purposely striking a cop car at the scene of a crash he caused, authorities said.
FLORENCE, NJ — A teenage boy faces new charges, including attempted murder, after he stabbed an officer while resisting arrest last month in Florence Township, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.
The 16-year-old suspect was arrested after he caused a crash on March 21 and then fled the scene in a stolen car, authorities said. After officers arrived, he returned to the area and intentionally struck a police cruiser, according to prosecutors.
Authorities are withholding the boy's name because of his age. But prosecutors said he lives in Alexandria, Virginia.

The boy purposely struck the police car multiple times on Route 130, prosecutors said. Shortly after, the suspect's car broke down on the highway, near Station Road.
"He exited the vehicle and ran directly toward the officers on the scene, aggressively lunging at them with a knife," the prosecutor's office said on Thursday.
