BurlCo Man Shot, Killed After Confrontation with Masked Men: Prosecutor
Authorities say Louis Sweet, of Pemberton, was leaving his home when he was shot Tuesday night.

A Pemberton Township man was gunned down late Tuesday night after he was confronted by several masked men at his home.
Authorities said Louis Sweet, 36, was departing his home on the 700 block of Lakehurst Road around 11 p.m. when he was confronted by multiple individuals wearing masks and then shot.
He was transported to Deborah Hospital in Pemberton and pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds just before midnight, according to a release from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.

Several people were inside the home when the shooting occurred, including Sweet’s children. No one else was wounded, though a dog inside the residence was struck by a bullet that entered the home, authorities said.
A motive for the attack has not been established. No arrests have been made.

The investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office (BCPO) and the Pemberton Township Police Department.
