Drunk Driver Breaks Leg In 3-Car Crash In Burlington Co.: Police

He was charged with driving while intoxicated before being admitted for surgery.

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — A drunk driver broke his leg in a three-car crash on Saturday in Mount Laurel, police said.

It happened around 2 a.m. on Route 73 South and Church Road.

One of the drivers — Vernon Haynes, 37, of Mount Laurel — sustained a concussion and a possible leg fracture. At the scene, he admitted to officers that he had been drinking, police said.

No one else was injured.

Haynes was driven to the hospital in custody. A blood warrant was authorized and served while he was getting treatment, police said.
