Man Shot, Killed By Unknown Suspect While Driving In Burlington Co.: Prosecutor

Authorities believe the victim was shot while he was driving on the highway.

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — A man was shot and killed while driving early Sunday in Mount Laurel, authorities said.

No arrests have been announced as of Monday morning as law enforcement continues to investigate the incident.

The victim was discovered bleeding around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on the 1000 block of Atrium Way in Mount Laurel, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.

He was brought to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he was pronounced dead at about 4:15 a.m.

Authorities have withheld the victim's identity.

The preliminary investigation determined that the victim was likely shot moments before he was found bleeding, officials said. The prosecutor's office believes it happened while he was driving northbound on Route 73 in his silver Mercedes-Benz E 350 sedan.

The Burlington County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy.
