Man Sought In Attempted Car Burglary In Moorestown: Police

Moorestown police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who was involved in an attempted car burglary last week.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who was involved in an attempted car burglary last week.

The incident happened near Kings Highway and Lenola Road at about 6:25 p.m. Thursday night, Moorestown police said in a statement.

The car’s owner found a man rummaging through his car, and the man immediately fled the scene. His image can be seen below.

Anyone who knows the identity of this person is asked to call the Moorestown Police Department’s confidential tip line at 856-914-3092 or email detectives@moorestownpd.com.

Police have urged residents are urged to take their FOB/keys, remove any valuables from plain view, and lock their cars. They provided these tips to prevent car burglaries:

  • Do not leave valuables in plain view: (GPS devices, laptops, PDA's, cell phones, MP3's, wallets, purses)
  • Do not leave windows or sunroof open.
  • Do not leave doors unlocked.
  • Do not leave FOB/keys in the vehicle.
  • Do not leave the garage door opener in plain view.
  • Do not leave items with personal identifiers in plain view.
  • Do move valuable items to the trunk while in public view.
