MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — A man is facing charges after performing a lewd act at Walmart in Mount Laurel earlier this month, authorities said.

Police responded to the store at 10:13 a.m. Sept. 8 for a report of a man following a female shopper.

Officers were told that the man — later identified as Marco F. Mauceli Jr., 27, of Camden — committed a lewd act inside the business. Police did not specify the act.

There wasn't enough evidence to support an immediate arrest, police said. But at the time of the call, Mauceli was detained, identified and removed from the property.

Police gained more evidence in the ensuing days and charged Mauceli on a summons Friday with lewdness and harassment.
