The new coronavirus has changed life for all of us. Local businesses have taken a huge economic hit, but communities are finding creative ways to support the establishments they know and love.
In an effort to help local businesses in our communities stay connected and succeed, Patch will be shining a light on some of them through a series of Q&A articles during this time.

Tell us about your business and its history in your town.
Vtrainers has been in business for over 20 years. We are one of the longest operating personal training studios in the tri-state area. Being in operation that long, we have been through 9/11 and the recession in 2008. Those were both difficult times, but nothing has been like this.

Our business is based on face-to-face interactions. We started with one studio in Bala Cynwyd and as clients moved we opened studios near their new homes to keep them as clients. That’s how Vtrainers wound up with five studios.
Right now the staff is trying to do everything virtually with one-on-one personal training based on people's goals through their phones or computers. With different software like FaceTime or Google Duo we are making it work, but it has completely changed everything we have done for decades. Never has there been a need to adapt as quickly as there is now.
How has the new coronavirus impacted your business and its employees?
Because of the coronavirus all of our studios have been forced to close down. We usually only have about one or two people working out at a time so there is plenty of social distancing, but at this time we are closing down with everyone else.
How can local customers support you now and in the future?
Contact us through our website, Facebook or by calling or texting 215-205-8591.
Do you have any words of encouragement for your community?
Together we will do this to keep people safe in the country. The world will rebound. People adapt and survive.
Are you offering any special services, promotions or hours during this time?
Vtrainers is offering two free online training sessions with our personal trainers, and we are selling packages of 10 half-hour private sessions for $275. When the studio is open again we'll offer two free one-hour sessions with our trainers.
Are there any other outstanding businesses in town you think deserve some community support?
I think ordering out as often as possible from different restaurants whether they be large or small helps. I have been rotating who we order from because big companies are also affected. I also adopted two dogs from the shelter because the shelters are also struggling to find funding. So now we have three dogs.
