MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Moorestown Service Clubs Council has begun the process of selecting the 2022 Citizen of the Year, the council announced this week.
The award, handed out annually since 1954, recognizes a Moorestown resident who has engaged in community service through individual volunteer effort and/or participation in group activities unrelated to their employment. The first recipient was Percy B. Lovell. Last year’s winners were Pete and Julie Bender.
Their contribution of public service can be made at elected or appointed positions at any level of government, or can simply be comprised of multiple and varied volunteer efforts, including services that help bring the community closer together.
