Moorestown Crew Excels at Regional Competition
Strong individual performances propel team to success at massive indoor rowing championship at Villanova.

Four weeks into its winter conditioning season, the Moorestown Crew team had its first challenge, the Main Line Slide.
The Main Line Slide is an indoor rowing championship held at the Jack Nevin Fieldhouse at Villanova University. This competition attracts rowers from across the Delaware Valley. It is a mixed event including high school and collegiate rowers, as well as masters rowers from 20 years old up through the age of 80. Approximately 550 individual rowers competed on ergs or rowing machines. The Moorestown team competed in the junior boys' and girls' races, lightweight and coxswain categories.
Sarah Jaraha took first place in the girls' coxswain challenge. The team captured four of the top five finishers in this category including Scout Brisson (second), Zahabya Mama (fourth) and Kristen Munoz (fifth). In the men’s coxswain challenge, Kevin Harris placed third and Jack Sencindiver came in fifth place.
Andrew Hendrickson took second place, while Will Roman placed third out of a field of 60 in the lightweight boys' race. Jacob Henry placed 20th out of 94 rowers in the junior men’s race. Gabriella Martin took second place in the lightweight women’s category, while Claire Wixted placed fourth in the junior women’s race.
The team’s next competition will be the Haddon Hammers indoor rowing championship, which is primarily a contest among high schools in southern New Jersey.
