Police investigate two break-ins in the same section of town. It's not clear whether the burglaries are related.

Oct. 29

Suspicious person, 11:14 a.m. — A resident on the first block of Dorchester Lane reported to police that a suspicious man had been on his property. The subject was at the resident’s garage door when the resident approached and asked him what he was doing. The man walked away and got into a vehicle and left, police said. Patrols checked the area but were unable to locate the man or his vehicle. The subject is described as a Hispanic or light-skinned black man, wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap. His vehicle is described as a dark, boxy vehicle.

Oct. 31

Burglary, 8:04 p.m. — Police said someone on the 800 block of Golf View Road by smashing a rear sliding door and stole silver and multiple pieces of jewelry.

Nov. 2

Suspicious activity, 1:19 a.m. — A resident from the 300 block of East Central Avenue reported a suspicious person in their back yard. The resident was unable to provide a description of the subject, police said. Patrols checked the area and could not find anyone.

Trespassing, 9:11 p.m. — Four black men were seen running from a commercial building on the 200 block of North Lenola Road by a neighbor, police said. The subjects got into a four-door dark sedan and drove away.

Burglary, 10:45 p.m. — Police responded to a residential burglar alarm on the 300 block of Park Drive. When officers arrived, they found a rear ground-floor window had been smashed. Patrols checked the house and nothing appeared to be missing, police said.
