NJ Man Strangles Wife To Death In Bedroom, Police Say

MOORESTOWN, NJ — A 73-year-old Burlington County man was arrested Sunday after his wife was found strangled to death in their East Camden Avenue apartment, according to officials.

Gerard Slavin was charged with murder and second-degree aggravated assault, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and Moorestown Township Public Safety Director Patrick J. Reilly Jr. said in a release.

Just before 3 p.m. Sunday Moorestown Township Police were called to the Slavin’s residence in the Moorestowne Woods Apartment Homes where officers found the body of Linda Slavin, 73, in the couple’s bedroom, authorities said.

Gerard Slavin was arrested without incident, and an autopsy performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood determined that Linda Slavin died from strangulation.
