Threat Against Elementary School In Burlington Co. Was Not Credible: Police

The person who made the threat doesn't live in the immediate area, police said.

LUMBERTON, NJ — A threat made against an elementary school in Burlington County was deemed non-credible, police said Friday.

The threat was reported Thursday at Ashbrook Elementary School in Lumberton, according to Lumberton Police Chief Anthony D. Nippins.

Police responded immediately and investigated, Nippins said.

"At no point was there an active danger to students, staff, or the community," Nippins said. "The subject responsible for the threat does not live in the immediate area."

Police did not disclose any other information about the nature of the threat or the person who allegedly made it.

Ashbrook Elementary School educates students from preschool through first grade in the Lumberton Township School District.

Nippins encouraged the public to immediately report any potential threats or safety concerns that arise. Lumberton police will continue working with the school district to ensure a safe learning environment, he said.

"We understand that reports like this can cause concern for parents and residents," Nippins said. "Please know that the safety of our children remains our top priority, and we take every threat seriously."
