Beenie’s Ice Cream to Offer Little Women–Themed Flavor to Benefit MHS Theatre Program
Support Morristown High School Theater by enjoying the custom March Family Favorite ice cream flavor at Beenie's starting this Thursday

Morristown, NJ—In connection with Morristown High School Theatre’s upcoming production of Little Women, Beenie’s Ice Cream on Morris Street will be selling a custom flavor of ice cream to benefit the MHS Theatre program. The flavor, called The March Family Favorite, will be buttery cornbread ice cream with a blueberry jam swirl, and 20 percent of the sales of that flavor will go to the MHS Theatre Program.
MHS’s production of Little Women will stage four performances this weekend, November 21 to 23. The March Family Favorite will be on sale at Beenie’s from Thursday, November 20, until the limited batch runs out, with a maximum availability of seven days.
The March Family Favorite’s combination of buttery cornbread ice cream with a blueberry jam swirl brings to mind the “cream and muffings” young Amy March helps her sisters bring to a hungry family on Christmas morning early in the play. “We wanted something that connects to the world of Little Women,” says Beenie’s owner Tony Franco. “Cornbread and jam felt authentic to the time period and also happens to be a delicious and unexpected flavor combination.”

The flavor is part of Beenie’s new One Batch Wonders program, in which Beenie’s will create and produce a limited batch of a unique flavor in collaboration with a local non-profit, school program, business, or even an individual customer. The specialty flavors will be sold in the store for a limited time and will also be available for special bulk orders.
“The limited nature is what makes One Batch Wonders so special, and it also creates space on our production calendar for many people in the community to pitch and create flavors throughout the year.”

Beenie’s has long been a strong supporter of the MHS Theatre program, as can be seen in the store’s creative, show-specific advertisements in the program for each performance (known as the ShowGram).
“Supporting the arts is personal for us,” says Franco. “I had a great experience growing up locally, being involved in the music and arts programs at our schools. These programs give creative minds a place to belong and to develop their talents."
The March Family Favorite will also be available for young theatergoers at MHS Theatre’s March Family Children’s Party on November 22 from Noon–1:00 pm before the Saturday matinee (the Children’s Party is a separate admission from the performance). Kids who attend can enjoy snacks, including Beenie’s ice cream, beverages, a craft, and have a chance to meet select members of the cast.
MHS Theatre will present four live performances of Little Women on the Morristown High School stage this weekend, including two evening shows and two matinees:
- Friday, November 21 at 7:00 pm
- Saturday, November 22 at 2:00 pm
