Bike & Walk Morristown Unveils Corral at Kings on Friday
The bike corral was won in a nationwide contest

Earlier this spring, Morristown bikers rejoiced. The official results for the 2013 Saris Bike Corral Photo Contest were revealed in April with Morristown on top.
This national contest started in March with submitted entries from across the nation and Morristown beat out the final two.
This Friday, join Bike & Walk Morristown as they celebrate the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Saris bike corral at Kings at 6 p.m. (The flyer says 7 p.m., but the event will start at 6 p.m. with the ribbon cutting, according to Kendra Arnold of Bike & Walk Morristown)

The event continues with the monthly Morristown bike ride fromTown Hall and ends with the second annual Music.Picnic.Art event on the lawn of the Vail Mansion.
The Artist Baker is helping host this annual fundraiser and will be delivering picnic baskets to the lawn. Every picnic dinner ordered from the Artist Baker helps to support Bike & Walk Morristown’s local projects. Order your picnic basket from the Artist Baker by Tuesday or you can bring your own food and join them at the Vail Mansion.

The event goes until 9 p.m. and includes music, post-riding yoga stretches and more. Go here for more information.

Head over to the Morris County Library at 2 p.m. for a movie matinee of ‘When Harry met Sally.’ It’ll be in the public meeting room. This 1989 movie is rated R and is 96 minutes long.

At the Bickford Theater, there’s a 12:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. performance of ‘West Side Story.’ This main stage performance is based off of the book by Arthur Laurents. The music is by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. It runs from now through July 28.
“The world’s greatest love story coupled with the timeless music of Leonard Bernstein and words by Stephen Sondheim takes us to the Upper West Side neighborhood in New York City in the critically acclaimed West Side Story. This landmark Broadway show explores the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two violent teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds. Produced by the New Jersey Youth Theatre, Bickford Theatre & Centenary Stage,” according to Bickford.

Go to MPAC at 8 p.m. tonight to catch an evening featuring the music of two Grammy-winning singer-songwriters—country legend Mary Chapin Carpenter (“Passionate Kisses,” “I Feel Lucky,” “He Thinks He’ll Keep Her”) and folk and pop favorite Marc Cohn (“Walking in Memphis”). At the Morristown-Morris Township Library, there are a few events going on:
- There’s Pre-School Craft Story Time at 10 a.m. Come listen to some stories and make a simple craft to take home. All supplies provided and the activity is sponsored by The Friends of the Library. It runs every Friday from July 9 – Aug. 16
- Friday Flicks: Rise of the Guardians—at 2 p.m. come watch the magical story about the legendary guardians--Jack Frost, the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy and Sandman--together for the first time. When the evil Pitch threatens to take over the world, it's up to our beloved heroes to protect the hopes and dreams of children everywhere. Rated PG.
- Jazz in July: Jazz Standards from the American Songbook. This is the second of two Friday night Jazz Concerts. This program will be Jazz Standards from the American Songbook and will feature Bob DeVos, guitar, Bob Mchugh, piano, Ron Naspo, bass and David Humm, drums. Refreshments will be served. Tickets are $20 per concert and will benefit the Library. Tickets will be available at the door. Concert runs from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.
