Chief Of Police Retires, Names Replacement For Morris Township
Morris Township Chief of Police Mark DiCarlo has announced his retirement and has publicly named his replacement.
MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — In a public statement addressed to the township, former Chief of Police Mark DiCarlo announced his departure from the force and named his successor.
DiCarlo officially retired from the Morris Township Police Department on July 1, according to police.
In a public statement, DiCarlo said, "it has been a pleasure serving you since 1996. I am most thankful for how well the members of the Police Department are appreciated and treated by the community. It has been a pleasure working with the Township Committee and Township Administrator Tim Quinn, who have always supported the Morris Township Police Department."

According to DiCarlo, Captain Robert Shearer, who has been with the force for more than 18 years, will be the next Chief of Police for Morris Township.
"Please know that our officers are well trained, experienced and professional. They dedicate themselves to your safety and security every shift," DiCarlo said.
