Dumpling Shop Set To Expand With New Morris Plains Location
Ugly Dumpling, a brand inspired by the vibrant flavors of Shanghai street food, will be opening its doors in Briarcliff Commons.
MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — If you're a fan of dumplings, you'll want to check out this exciting new spot. Ugly Dumpling, a popular restaurant chain, is set to open its latest location in Morris Plains.
The chain, which already has two other locations in New Jersey, has signed a lease for a 5,654-square-foot space at Briarcliff Commons, located at the intersection of Route 10 and Route 202.
According to property records, Ugly Dumpling will be taking over the space that was previously home to the health and beauty chain Harmon, which closed last year after filing for bankruptcy.

"As we consider all paths and strategic alternatives, we continue to work with our advisors and implement actions to manage our business as efficiently as possible. The company has initiated the closure of an additional 87 Bed Bath & Beyond and five BuyBaby stores. Additionally, the company announced the closure of all Harmon locations," a spokesperson with Bed Bath & Beyond previously told Patch.
The restaurant serves traditional as well as modern Chinese cuisine. “We are dedicated to reimagining those most favored local recipes by curating new, exciting and playful experiences for our diners today,” according to the restaurant’s website.

Their menu features a variety of offerings, including dim sum, soup buns, wontons, noodles, and classic Shanghai street food dishes, among others.
Ugly Dumpling will be joining a lineup of popular tenants, including Chipotle, Crumbl, First Watch, Chick-fil-A and Chopt.
