Forecast Cancels Trash, Recycling Pickup In Morris Twp., Morris Plains

A major snowstorm in the forecast is impacting some local public works schedules.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP-MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — A powerful winter storm is expected to bring widespread heavy snowfall to Morris County, affecting some public works schedules Tuesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Morris County, beginning at midnight Monday and lasting until 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Morris Plains canceled curbside recycling on Tuesday, Feb. 13 due to the impending storm, and recycling collection will take place on Saturday, Feb. 17 instead.

Morris Township canceled both recycling and trash collection on Tuesday, and the following new schedule will take place: Tuesday's scheduled collection will take place on Wednesday, Wednesday's scheduled collection will take place on Thursday, and Thursday's scheduled collection will take place on Friday.

Area 3 Large Item Trash Collection is still scheduled for Friday, Feb. 16 for all residents who scheduled a pick-up.
