Green Wave Floods Atlantic City

Delbarton grapplers Max Rogers, Jeff Canfora, Devon Cobbo and Dean Sullivan will compete in Saturday's quarterfinals at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall.

Rogers (112 pounds) beat Timber Creek's Ricky Carter, 6-3, in the pre-quarterfinals after dropping West Essex's Carlo Zazzara, 7-5, in the preliminary round. Canfora (135 pounds) nailed a 5-3 overtime decision over Curt Delia of Delsea before pinning Ocean's Withler Marcelin in 2:57. Gobbo (140 pounds) pinned Oakcrest's Antonio Mancella in 1:28 after gaining a preliminary-round bye. Sullivan (215 pounds) nailed a 7-6 decision over St. Mary's Michael Amaro before pinning Bordentown's Matt Bauer in 5:48.

Christian Innarella, Nick Anderson and Jorge Lopez will compete in wrestlebacks Saturday.

Innarella (103 pounds) dropped Tom Gattinella of St. Augustine, 8-7, before Luis Gonzalez of North Bergen pinned him in 3:47. Lopez (130 pounds) had a preliminary-round bye, but fell to North Bergen's Julian Quintero, 8-5, in the pre-quarters. Nick Anderson (119 pounds) lost to to Eastern's Robert Deutsch, 5-3, in the pre-quarterfinals after beating Midland Park's Danny Tyson, 6-4, in the prelims.
