Eleventh Hour Rescue
Eleventh Hour Rescue, a volunteer-driven no-kill organization based in Morris County, welcomes residents who want to help save the lives of dogs and cats pulled from high-kill shelters. Volunteers can support everything from cat socialization and transport to application processing, fundraising, general cleaning, groundskeeping and event assistance; junior volunteer options are available for those ages 12+.

The Irene & Eric Simon (IES) Brain Research Foundation, based in nearby Sparta, advances neuroscience research through fundraising, community outreach and events. Greater Middlesex & Morris Habitat for Humanity engages local volunteers to build and repair affordable homes while supporting families across Morris County. In addition to construction roles, volunteers can assist at the ReStore, join committees, help with events and provide administrative support.

Literacy Volunteers of Morris County
Literacy Volunteers of Morris County offers free tutoring to adults who want to strengthen their reading, writing or English-speaking skills, helping learners become more confident employees, parents and community members. Volunteer tutors must be at least 21, fluent in English, comfortable using email and willing to meet with a student in Morris County after completing the required training.

Morris County Interfaith Food Pantry Network
For more than 25 years, the Morris County Interfaith Food Pantry Network has supported local residents by providing food access, education and resources, and volunteers play a key role in that mission. Current needs include cooking demonstration assistants, bilingual outreach volunteers, education volunteers and home-delivery helpers who can “shop” for clients and deliver groceries once or twice a month.

Morris County Parks Commission
The Morris County Park Commission invites residents to help care for New Jersey’s largest county park system by volunteering across its 20,000 acres of trails, natural areas, historic sites and education centers. Opportunities range from Adopt-a-Trail projects and horticulture support to historic-site assistance, stewardship work and environmental education programs. The Seeing Eye
The Seeing Eye offers several ways to support its guide-dog training mission, from raising puppies through local puppy clubs to participating in Pennies for Puppies®/Dollars for Dogs® school and community drives. Adults 18+ can apply for on-site or remote volunteer roles, which may include administrative support, specialized tasks or limited opportunities involving dog handling at its Morristown, Chester or downtown training facilities.
