Little Women is MHS Theatre’s Second-Highest-Grossing Fall Play of the Last Decade
Get your tickets now for the student-run production of the beloved classic, which runs this weekend, November 21–23

Morristown, NJ—Opening Night for Morristown High School Theatre’s production of Little Women is fast approaching, with curtain going up on the first performance tonight, Friday, November 21, at 7:00 pm. With tickets still available at MHSTIX.com and at the door, Little Woman is already the second-best-selling fall production at MHS since 2015, trailing only 2018’s Prancer.
The students, faculty, and parents who have worked so hard since early September to put this show together are thrilled at the support they have received thus far and are hoping that, by the time the curtain falls on Sunday’s performance, Little Women will have surpassed Prancer in total ticket sales. That goal is within their reach, and you can help them get there. As well as they have been selling, plenty of tickets are still available for this original adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s beloved coming-of-age classic.
MHS Theatre will present four live performances of Little Women on the Morristown High School stage starting tonight, including two evening shows and two matinees:

Younger theatergoers can also attend the March Family Children’s Party from noon to 1 pm on November 22, prior to the Saturday matinee (the Children’s Party and play performance are separate admissions). Kids at the party will enjoy snacks, beverages, a craft, and a chance to meet members of the cast.
Among the treats available at the Children’s Party will be the March Family Favorite, the custom, limited-batch, Little Women-themed ice cream flavor that is now on sale at Beenie’s Ice Cream on Morris Street (we tried it, it’s delicious!). Twenty percent of the sales of The March Family Favorite—a buttery cornbread ice cream with a blueberry jam swirl—will go to the MHS Theatre Program.
Little Women is a coming-of-age story about love, family, and the sisterly bonds of the four “little women” of the March household at a time when their father is away fighting the American Civil War. A treat for the holiday season, Little Women spans several Christmases in the lives of the March girls and their mother, who instills a spirit of independence, charity, forgiveness, and compassion in her daughters.
Morristown High School’s production of Little Women is an original adaptation by MHS’s award-nominated director, George LaVigne, with input from the students. It reaches back past the many movie, television, and musical adaptations of this timeless American classic to Louisa May Alcott’s landmark 1868 novel, getting to the heart of what has had readers and audiences returning to Little Women for more than a century and a half.
In the words of the March girls’ mother, Marmee, “There’s truth in it,” as well as “humor and pathos.” MHS’s production is sure to be a heartwarming reminder of “how much genuine happiness can be had in a plain little house.”
