New Dumpling Joint Opening Up In Morris County
Three new locations are opening in New Jersey, one of them in Morris County.
MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — A popular dumpling restaurant chain is expanding further in New Jersey and will be opening up its first Morris County location.
Ugly Dumpling, originally founded in Edison, plans to add three more restaurants in New Jersey, one of which will be in Morris Plains.
The modern dumpling eatery will be located at 1711 Route 10 and Route 202 in the Briarcliff Commons. The other two upcoming NJ locations will be in Union and Burlington counties.

Ugly Dumpling specializes in soup dumplings, Dim Sum, and wontons. Customers can pick and choose filling options, including chicken, pork, shrimp, and more. There are vegan and vegetarian options as well.
Aside from dumplings, the chain offers noodle bowls, wok dishes, desserts, and bubble tea.

“Ugly Dumpling’s menu caters to a modern palette and is designed to be affordable and accessible to the masses, as Dim Sum, dumplings, wontons, and wok cooking was intended,” a statement read. “The star of the show is our handcrafted XLB, the most flavorful soup dumplings made fresh daily in our Bao Lab.”
Other open New Jersey locations, aside from the original in Edison, include Linden and Holmdel.
Morris Plains’ Ugly Dumpling is expected to open in early 2026.
